The all-electric Renault Kangoo Z.E. has been successful at the What Van? Awards 2018 where it was awarded the Green Award for its’ group-leading efficiency and environmentally friendly character! After benefitting from extensive upgrades to both its’ range and charging capability, the Kangoo Van Z.E. impressed the judging panel. This latest version can deliver an official NEDC (New European Driving Cycle) range of 170 miles, showing an increase of over 60% on the previous models’ capabilities.
On the award James Dallas, What Van? Editor commented: “Renault, which has long led the way in demonstrating the environmental, economical and practical advantages of electric vans to light commercial vehicle operators, has once more raised the bar with the Kangoo Z.E. 33..”
Vincent Tourette, Groupe Renault UK Managing Director added: “With interest in fully electric vehicles at an all-time high and more business users attracted to the significant benefits they offer, we are delighted to see the Renault Kangoo Van Z.E. 33 win an award that officially recognises its’ status as the best and most forward-thinking electric LCV in the market.”
Vincent Tourette continued by saying: “Renault is European leader in electric cars and vans and with this revised Kangoo Van Z.E. 33 offers customers a relaxing-to-drive van that has instant pulling power together with ultra-low running costs and the same generous load capacity and options as the equivalent diesel version.”
The improved, class-leading range can be argued to be a direct result of the new, higher density 33kWh battery. The new, improved battery enables the van to travel longer distances between charges and also means there is minor impact on the payload of as much as 640kg.The Renault Kangoo Van Z.E. 33 can be purchased in a range of body styles including Kangoo Van Z.E. 33, Maxi Crew Van Z.E. 33 and Maxi Crew Van Cab Z.E. 33. The Kangoo Van Z.E. 33 benefits from enhanced charging capability meaning that it can charge to 100% in just six hours.
