The Civic Type R builds on the long tradition of performance cars that reflect the excitement and spirit of racing, specifically engineered to give drivers the most exhilarating Civic Type R experience yet.

Honda engineers have refined every aspect of the new model, including improving aerodynamic performance with enhanced design elements. Lightweight components and powertrain revisions have created the most responsive and powerful Type R ever.

Utilising the latest concept “Ultimate Sports 2.0”, the Civic Type R takes advantage of the sleek and sporty recently unveiled Honda Civic e:HEV to create a lower, wider, and sportier model. This enhances both the styling and the driving performance.

Lightweight 18-inch matte black alloy wheels shod with bespoke Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres live beneath the flared-out wheel arches, creating a squat form.

Uncluttered details such as the front and rear bumpers create both beautifully integrated styling and improved aerodynamic benefits. The large lower grille maximises airflow to the engine, working in unison with the subtle bonnet vent to maximise airflow around the front end.

The new, larger, rear diffuser is integrated into the under-floor, shaped to work in unison with the bodywork above to maximise aerodynamic efficiency and performance. Coupled with the dramatic new rear spoiler, downforce generation is increased along with suppressed air resistance. New aluminium die-cast mounts ensure the rear wing sits lower but wider than the previous model.

Paint finishes will include the historic Championship White revered by Honda Type R enthusiasts, in addition to a solid Rallye Red, as well as Racing Blue, Crystal Black and Sonic Grey Pearls.

The interior of the Civic Type R maintains the high levels of comfort and practicality found in the Civic e:HEV, but enhances exhilaration and driving with emotive, performance-focussed details and features, such as the iconic classic Type R red trim.

The driver sits lower than before, with enhanced visibility thanks to the lower bonnet and minimised blind spots. Drivers can seamlessly switch between performance settings, with pre-set modes including Comfort, Sport and +R for the engine, steering, suspension and engine sound. In addition, a new ‘Individual Mode’ has been introduced to enable customisation of the driving experience.

A revised engine and turbocharger along with a brand new, high-efficiency exhaust system all work together to improve the power-to-weight ratio, torque, and top speed of the new Type R. Renowned for its powerful, highly responsive, and high revving engines, the All-New Civic Type R will not disappoint as the driver will be rewarded with the fastest, most addictive yet secure drive in the model’s history.

An optimised version of the six-speed manual transmission used in the previous generation Type R ensures that the driving experience treasured by all Type R fans remains undiluted. A revised rev-match system with auto blip ensures perfectly paired rev-matching when shifting down through the gears, helping balance the car on corner entry.

The braking system has been improved with an upgraded Brembo brake setup that includes enhanced temperature control and air-cooling. During high-performance driving, enhanced feel and longevity are guaranteed.

A new triple-exhaust design ensures a better connection between driver and car due to its use of enhanced sound modulation creating an enhanced aural sensation for the driver.
