For almost 50 years the Hilux has forged an unmatched reputation for long-lasting, hard-wearing quality, put to the test in the world’s most extreme environments. The new generation of Britain’s best-selling pick-up builds on this heritage to set new benchmarks in strength, performance and driveability, whilst introducing even higher levels of comfort and equipment.
Longer, wider, taller, with increased towing capacities and a larger load deck than ever before, New Hilux is designed for even better performance both on and off-road.
The breadth of ability is matched by the choice available: Single, Extra and Double Cab body styles, five equipment grades; Active, Icon, Invincible, Invincible X and GR SPORT and two and all-wheel drive options to suit your needs.
The New Hilux's impressive combination of toughness and refinement is perfectly captured in its sleek and dynamic styling. The new front grille and headlamp units are brought together in a unified design that wraps right around the front of the vehicle. New daytime running lights use an array of 12 LEDs to give the New Hilux a unique lighting signature, while on high-grade models LED projectors are used for the low-beam headlights.
The Single and Extra Cab models put the emphasis on work. Single Cab combines a two-door design and two-seat cabin with a larger and tougher deck – now 124mm wider and 30mm deeper. The Extra Cab increases cabin flexibility by adding two occasional rear seats, bringing a modest reduction in deck size. Both Single and Extra Cab are available in Active trim only.
The New Hilux Double Cab is the genuine all-rounder, equipped with four doors and three rear seats whilst still retaining a generous load area of 1,525 x 1,540mm. Double Cab is available in all five equipment grades, and is supported by a wide range of genuine accessories.
The New Hilux is an authentic all-rounder. Formidably tough, yet benefiting from advanced technologies to keep you safe, in control and fully connected while on the move. The new range introduces the Toyota Safety Sense† package of active safety features and the latest Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system^, with touchscreen tablet-like control.

The 2.4 litre D-4D engine performs superbly thanks to new technology which dramatically increases torque in low to medium speed ranges and provides unprecedented acceleration. The new engine also contributes to New Hilux’s improved towing capabilities. This engine has been designed to keep noise levels down and efficiency up. In fact, the refined sound insulation can make you forget that you’re driving a pick-up. The same is true for the efficient new 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions: they add to the premium SUV-style driving sensation.
The new 2,393cc unit generates 150hp at 3,400rpm and offers 400Nm of torque from between 1,600 and 2,000rpm - this is 15% more and from 600rpm lower than the outgoing, and already impressive 2.5 litre engine. Despite being on par with competitors’ high performance engines, this doesn’t come at the expense of fuel efficiency. The new 2.4-litre D-4D returns an average fuel consumption around 30mpg and CO2 emissions between 241-284g/km* depending on body style and specification.
