MOTABILITY HOW IT WORKS

MOTABILITY ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible to benefit from the Motability scheme, you or your child need to receive one of the following mobility allowances and you must have at least 12 months remaining on the awards:

• Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (HMRC DLA)
This allowance is provided by the Government and can be used to cover the cost of a lease agreement with the Motability scheme.

• Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (ERMC PIP)
Also provided by the Government, this allowance can be used to cover the cost of a lease agreement with the Motability scheme.

• War Pensioners’ Mobility Scheme (WPMS)
This allowance is provided by Veterans UK and can be used to cover the cost of a lease agreement with the Motability scheme.

• Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)
This allowance is provided by the Government and can be used to cover the cost of a lease agreement with the Motability scheme.

RESTRICTIONS

• Mileage Allowance
The mileage allowance is 60,000 miles over a 3 year agreement and any additional miles will be charged at a cost of 5p per mile.

• Age Restrictions
Drivers under 25 may only purchase a car with an ABI Insurance Group of 16 or lower, and with a power output of 120 BHP or less and only one named driver under 21 is permitted on the insurance.
