THE SECOND NEUE KLASSE MODEL.
Available to order from Autumn 2026 at Douglas Park BMW Edinburgh, Douglas Park BMW Glasgow, Douglas Park BMW Hamilton and Douglas Park BMW Stirling.
The BMW 3 Series has remained a global icon for five decades, representing the ultimate benchmark for sporty driving pleasure and consistent technical progress. As the second model in the visionary BMW Neue Klasse range, the all-new fully electric BMW i3 is coming to Douglas Park BMW to sharpen these familiar characteristics for a new era. This evolution introduces a pioneering design language and an advanced operating concept that delivers a unique driving experience powered by the "Heart of Joy" system. With the sixth generation of BMW eDrive technology, the i3 offers a remarkable WLTP range of up to 559 miles, ensuring that long-distance refinement remains at the forefront of the BMW experience.
The exterior of the BMW i3 presents a modern and timeless aesthetic that remains unmistakably a 3 Series while forging its own path with Neue Klasse DNA. This new 2.5-box design features characteristic proportions defined by a long wheelbase and short overhangs, creating a silhouette that is both assured and dynamic. At the front, the signature radiator grille and twin headlights merge into a single, seamless unit, while the redesigned BMW brand emblem sits within the "valley" of a sculptured bonnet. A shark-nose front end inclines dynamically towards the road to reinforce the vehicle’s athletic stance, complemented by prominently flared wheel arches and a rear end featuring horizontal lights that evoke technical precision.
Inside the cabin, digital technology meets hallmark BMW driver orientation to create an environment focused entirely on electromobility and premium comfort. The instrument panel lines flow horizontally into the door panels to create an enveloping wrap-around effect for all passengers. Central to this interior is the new BMW Panoramic iDrive and Panoramic Vision system, which projects essential driving information across a specially coated area at the base of the windscreen from A-pillar to A-pillar. This cockpit is further defined by a 17.9-inch Free-Cut Design Central Display and a multifunction steering wheel featuring Shy Tech controls. For intuitive communication, the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant uses enhanced AI technology to formulate context-specific responses to voice commands.
Sportiness remains an integral part of the 3 Series DNA, and the "Heart of Joy" within the BMW i3 unlocks the full potential of electric performance. Working alongside the BMW Dynamic Performance Control stack, this high-performance unit controls the drive, brakes, and steering with responses ten times faster than previous systems for exceptionally precise handling. The introduction of a Soft-Stop function ensures the smoothest stopping process in BMW history, while the BMW Symbiotic Drive Level 2 assistance systems allow for seamless interaction between the car and driver. This allows for manual acceleration or steering inputs even when assistance is engaged, ensuring the driver always remains involved in the driving experience.
Efficiency is driven by an 800-volt battery that supports ultra-rapid DC charging at up to 400 kW, allowing the battery to gain 248 miles of range in just 10 minutes. This advanced powertrain not only supports incredible range but also offers bidirectional charging, effectively turning the BMW i3 into a mobile power bank. This combination of heritage, digital innovation, and rapid-charging capability makes the new BMW i3 the definitive electric sports saloon for the modern driver.
Coming soon to Douglas Park BMW.
All data is provisional. Please note: Since no binding WLTP values are currently available for the BMW i3 50 xDrive, these are provisional values. In addition, the actual values depend on various factors, such as load, driving style, route, weather, auxiliary consumers (including air conditioning), tyres, and the age of the battery.
As no binding WLTP values are currently available for the BMW i3 50 xDrive, these are provisional values. The recharged range after 10 minutes of high-power charging was determined in accordance with ISO12906 in the WLTP cycle and assumes that the charging infrastructure enables the maximum DC charging power. The recharged range and charging performance depend on the vehicle equipment, charge/ageing status of the battery, ambient/battery temperature, driving profile, auxiliary consumers, vehicle-specific charging settings and the charging power provided at the charging station.*The BMW i4 is a battery electric vehicle requiring mains electricity for charging. Whilst we recommend the battery for the BMW i4 is charged to 80% to help optimise the health and life of your battery, the electric range figure shown is the WLTP figure after the battery had been fully charged to 100%. WLTP figures are shown for comparability purposes. Only compare fuel consumption, CO2 and electric range figures with other cars tested to the same technical procedures. These figures may not reflect real life driving results, which will depend upon a number of factors including the starting charge of the battery, accessories fitted (post registration), variations in weather, driving styles and vehicle load.
