BSB BRANDS HATCH GP

It was the Brands Hatch GP circuit last weekend and another successful weekend for Tarran and Taylor. Both lads extended their championship leads as we go into a two week break before heading to Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire.

Tarran tried a new clutch in practice but then reverted to the original for Saturday’s qualifying session where he pushed hard for fourth place on the grid.

This weekend he had an extra race on Saturday as the cancelled first round at Silverstone was re run. After taking the lead on the first lap, Tarran scrapped with four riders throughout, nipping back into the lead at the last corner on the final lap to take the victory.

His lap time was only the seventh best so he had to start from the third row for the second twelve-lap sprint race later in the day. This time he got to second place on lap one and once again had a tough battle to grab the lead on the run up to the chequered flag.

Starting third on the grid for Sunday’s longer feature race he once again took the lead but crashed out coming on to the penultimate lap after being pushed wide at Sheene Curve. He suffered some cracked ribs but is otherwise ok.

Taylor’s weekend was less eventful as practice went well with solid laps times and a second row start for Sunday’s race. After an excellent start he took the lead on lap three and, apart from a tussle with a back marker, kept control throughout his fifteen lap race.

Tarran

"Although I crashed out of my final race, winning 2 out of 3 at Brands Hatch and extending my championship lead wasn't a bad weekend! I'm very sore but I'll do everything possible be fit and ready for next time out at Cadwell. A huge thanks to everyone as always and I'm real sorry about the crash. I hope the Stauff Connect Academy Team are not too mad with me for wrecking my ZX6 Kawasaki."

Taylor

"Although I had the worst qualifying of the year I’m still pleased with our performance over the weekend. We worked hard on a solid race pace and after a good start my plan worked out perfectly. I was pushed hard by Ian Hutchinson but I always felt like I had something in reserve. I increased my championship lead to 28 points but we still have four rounds to go so I’m still focused on winning more races. Thanks as always to Buildsbase BMW and all my personal sponsors."

The perfect weekend still eludes us but we can’t complain as we are having a pretty amazing season.

More fun in three weeks time at Cadwell Park!
