The Discovery has been given a facelift with a number of stylish changes to the exterior. The Discovery now boasts a new front grille and front bumper and for the first time, the 'Land Rover' name badge has been replaced with 'Discovery' on the bonnet with the tailgate also no longer displaying the '4' designation. New headlight clusters and daytime running lights as well as 2 new alloy wheel designs have been introduced to give the Discovery an even more stylish appearance.
Advanced technologies, including Roll Stability Control, Variable Ratio Steering and Gradient Acceleration Control are included as well as Land Rovers latest Terrain Technologies and Intelligent Power Management System which compliments all-terrain performance with energy saving technology.
Refined power and superb driving abilities are the hallmarks of the Discovery. The engine range, which includes the TDV6 3.0 Advanced Sequential Turbo Diesel engine and LR-V8 Petrol engine, means you're ready to tackle any situation, from open roads to steep off-road inclines. Recent developments have been made with the 3.0- litre V6 turbo diesel, making it far more environmentally friendly, now returning a claimed 35.3mpg, up from 32.1mpg from before. As well as this, C02 emissions have plummeted from 230g/km to 213g allowing the Discovery to drop a tax bracket, giving customers a greater annual saving.
With the new 2014 Discovery buyers now have a choice of four-wheel drive systems. For customers who do not need the Discovery's full off-road capabilities a new single-speed transfer box is now available. While the two-speed box offers both high and low-range for challenging off-road driving, the new single-speed is mechanically controlled, weighing 18kg less.
A full suite of driver assistance, comfort and safety features are also available, from Wade Sensing (a technology unique to Land Rover), Blind Spot Monitoring, Closing Vehicle Sensing, Reverse Traffic Detection and T-junction Cameras.
The 2014 Discovery is also available with a choice of two Meridian speaker systems. The standard system produces 380W of power and features eight speakers while the Meridian Surround system produces 850W output with an impressive 17 speakers giving customers a car sound system like no other.
