Induction

We recognise that beginning a new role with a new Company can sometimes be a stressful experience and it is for that reason that we invest time in welcoming new employees into the business using a structured Induction Programme. Typically new staff members at Park's can expect the following in their Programme:

Day 1• Line Manager welcomes new employee to Park's

• Introduction to workplace and colleagues

• Introduction to mentor

• Documentation, Policies and proceduresWeek 1• Familiarisation with workplace and basics of the new role

• Review of Week 1 by Line Manager and new employeeMonth 1Within 1 month of joining the Company the new employee will be invited to attend an Induction Session which consists of the following:• Introduction to other new members of staff

• Short presentation on company history

• Introduction to Senior ManagersMonth 3By the 3rd Month the new employee should have his or her own Personal Development Plan which will outline the areas of required development and where and how the support will be provided.

Career Management

All vacancies that arise within Park's are advertised internally and staff are given the opportunity to apply for any vacancy which meets both the individual's career plan and our business goals and effectiveness. Staff are encouraged to discuss their career aspirations with their managers and we seek to develop our staff through personal development and stretching job challenges. As with personal development, we actively encourage staff to manage their own career development in conjunction with their manager.

Training & Development

We understand and appreciate that everyone has their own preferred learning style. That is why at Park's we tailor our staff training and development to suit the individual through a mixture of mentoring, on-the-job instruction, one-to-one coaching, classroom style training courses, and on-line learning.

On joining our company new staff members receive initial Induction Training to ensure their transition into their new role and workplace is as smooth and stress-free as possible.

Through our Performance Management & Development process we create a Personal Development Plan suited to their individual needs and preferred style of learning. This plan is up-dated as required through regular performance appraisal and career progress reviews.

While our Managers take an active interest and have a hands-on role in our staff development, personal development is, quite simply, just that and we encourage our staff to take personal responsibility for driving their own development. It is our vision to have and to develop the top people in the industry and we believe that, with our focus on staff development, this vision is entirely possible.

Performance Management

Our Performance Management & Development process allows managers and employees to work together to ensure that all staff know exactly what is required to be done to achieve peak performance in their chosen line of work.

Objective Setting Managers and staff agree what objectives need to be met by the individual to ensure that overall business goals are achieved. These objectives form the basis of the individual's Performance Plan. All individual Performance Plans are aligned to business goals.

Performance Appraisal Staff performance is reviewed through regular performance appraisal at relevant periods throughout the year i.e. quarterly, bi-annually, annually.

Personal Development Plan In conjunction with the Performance Plan and Performance Appraisal, a Personal Development Plan is tailored to support staff in achieving their individual and business objectives.

A Modern Apprenticeship with Park's is an excellent way to launch your career and gain an industry recognised qualification.
