The W1 exterior marries shrink-wrapped organic curves on top with crisp, technical aerodynamic elements. The Formula 1-inspired side pods work in perfect sync with the bodywork, channelling airflow around the innovative McLaren Aerocell. This includes the new McLaren Anhedral doors, featuring integrated aero blades that are as much about aerodynamic function as they are about dramatic flair. It's truly performance-driven by design.

A beautifully crafted wraparound interior offers unparalleled visibility, keeping the driver focused and comfortable. It's also the first car in the world to feature McLaren InnoKnit, a patented, infinitely flexible, and super-light material. InnoKnit seamlessly integrates lighting and sound components beneath a single surface, cutting weight without compromising performance. The McLaren W1 truly represents the pinnacle of supercar design.

To achieve truly exceptional performance, a supercar must possess extraordinary power. The W1's all-new McLaren High-Performance Hybrid Powertrain delivers that with its innovative MHP-8 engine, lightweight E-module, F1-derived battery technology and fast-shifting 8-speed dual-clutch transmission with integrated E-Differential. This groundbreaking powertrain makes the W1 the fastest accelerating road-legal McLaren ever, reaching 200km/h from a standstill in a staggering 5.8 seconds. The all-new MHP-8 V8 engine combines with the e-module to deliver an incredible 1,275PS.

The W1 boasts the most ambitious and effective aerodynamic design ever implemented on a McLaren road car, featuring an integrated aero system that redefines performance. The all-new, purpose-built McLaren Aerocell and the innovative McLaren Active Long Tail work in tandem to deliver exceptional aerodynamic capabilities.

The all-new McLaren Aerocell is McLaren’s most advanced carbon fibre monocoque ever. This innovative design works in concert with the remarkable McLaren Active Long Tail, which extends by 300mm in race mode, dramatically altering the car's rear profile and maximising the diffuser's effectiveness. The result of this advanced aerodynamic package is an astounding 1,000 kg of downforce, five times greater than in its road configuration, achieving shapeshifting aerodynamics at the touch of a button. Just like the McLaren Formula 1 MCL38, the W1 is a ground effect car. Race Mode unleashes W1's most extreme transformation, calibrating its aerodynamics and suspension for all-out track performance.
