As the biggest van in the range, the Ford Transit has many available options to suit your list of requirements. Choose from a wide selection and combinations of wheelbases, cab-styles, roof-heights, engines and more. The Transit contains state-of-the-art technologies, including Ford SYNC, has an abundance of cargo space, and is available in FWD, RWD, and AWD to suit your business’s needs.
Designed to help your business run more productively, effectively, and cost efficiently, the Transit was created with a purposeful, modern exterior that appeals to a range of customers. Its high-tech lights provide better visibility, while the overall structure of the van conceals the available load area.
FORD TRANSIT VAN
The Transit’s interior is more comfortable than ever with its increased head clearance, visibility, and improved driving position with fully adjustable steering column. For convenience, above the instrument panel is a lidded storage compartment with power point and USB port. To suit the vehicle’s role as a mobile office, features such as Ford SYNC voice-activated, in-car connectivity system enable drivers to control their favourite smartphone apps using voice commands.
The Transit’s load area has side-wall angles that are upright with an adequately raised roof allowing for maximum useful space. All vans have an additional 95 mm load length to ensure it suits all standard-length pipes, boards, rolls of carpet and more.
A wide, high-grip step is integrated into the rear bumper making it easier to step into the cargo area and more convenient when loading by-hand.
Tie-down points mounted on the side-wall help to keep the cargo secure and the load floor clear and are both DIN and ISO compliant. Additionally, there are also body side fixings mounted at both waist and shoulder height, each rated at 30kgs load.
New loadspace lamps are now fitted as standard for a brighter-lit cargo area. LED lighting can be specified if required.
The Transit comes with tough side doors that are equipped with a double action release handle that makes for smooth opening and closing, a ‘positive check’ latch that secures the door when open, and a warning beep that sounds if the side door isn’t shut or locked correctly.
The wide-opening rear doors incorporate a 360-degree seal to help reduce noise and make closing more secure and prevent water from leaking into the load area. Optional hinges can be opened to the side of the vehicle and locked open at 90 degrees, depending on the model.
Available standard or optional safety and security features available in the Transit Van include, but are not limited to:
Driver Alert: designed to warn you if the system detects driving behaviour that indicates a drop in alertness levels. Initially, a warning icon is displayed in the instrument cluster, followed by a warning chime if driving alertness further declines.
Roll Stability Control: designed to identify a potentially dangerous driving situation and activate the ESC to maintain stability.
Hill Start Assist: a system that temporarily stops you rolling backwards when making a hill start. It works by maintaining pressure to the braking system for an extra 2.5 seconds, giving you more time and control as you move your foot from brake pedal to accelerator.
Load Adaptive Control (LAC): LAC senses the weight being carried in the vehicle and adjusts braking inputs via the ESC system to maximise driver control.
