With its distinctive look and spacious interior, the newly-designed Fiat 500L is a car built to attract and accommodate the entire family. A bold addition to the range, it shapes up visually as an upgrade to the popular, diminutive Fiat 500, whilst offering a selection of improved features.
The exterior of the 500L has been restyled in the classic mould of the 500, but with an enlarged body to enhance the family-friendliness of the car. This is evident with the new front end, which features the moustache, grille and LED Daytime Running Lights alongside a choice of 16” or 17” alloy wheels. The chrome detailing and body-coloured bumpers help to bring some styled refinement to the model, whilst the integrated Parkview rear parking camera maximises exterior protection when reversing and parking the car.
The 500L focuses on providing a sizeable and elegant interior space, which incorporates a number of practical and technological benefits for driver and passengers. The ergonomic steering wheel, handbrake and gear lever improve driving control, whilst the instrument cluster is clean, clear and allows for effortless speed and fuel checks. The addition of UconnectTM 7” HD LIVE touchscreen offers TomTom navigation and connects to your smartphone – unlocking access to your own music, audiobooks and podcasts. The 1.5m2 panoramic roof gives the option of unlimited scenic views during the journey. Finally, the combined 3.17m2 living spaceand a 455L boot space cement the 500L as a truly diverse and family-friendly car.
The 500L is powered by a choice of petrol engines – the 1.4L with 95hp, or the 1.4L T-Jet with 120hp. These engines reach a top speed of 111mph and 117mph respectively, with consumption figures of 46.3mpg and 42.2 mpg for combined cycles. Two diesel engines are available – the 1.3L MultiJet with 95hp, and the 1.6L MultiJet with 120hp. These reach top speeds of 106mph and 117mph respectively, returning 68.9mpg and 67.3mpg for combined cycles. CO2 emissions range from 107g/km for the MultiJet diesel, to 155g/km for the T-Jet petrol engine.
