The R 1250 GS – Edition 40 Years GS is unmistakable with its “Bumblebee” design cues. The cross-spoked wheels are finished in distinctive gold along with the matching gold handlebars. This look is complemented by the black-yellow features. A sporty windscreen finished in yellow is matched to a black and yellow seat with yellow GS branding. Black and yellow “Option 719” cylinder head cover and handguards finished in the yellow match well with the ”40 Years GS” and “Option 719” stickering on the bike.
The twin-cylinder boxer engine delivers an impressive 100 kW (136 PS) at 7,750 rpm and 143 Nm at 6,250 rpm. Smooth power delivery is guaranteed with the BMW ShiftCam boxer technology. Delivering power when you most need it through a constant-mesh 6-speed gearbox with helical gear teeth and shaft drive through a wet clutch with an anti-hopping function and hydraulic activation will leave you feeling secure and sure-footed in any terrain. The 30-litre fuel tank and impressive 4.75 l per 100 km (based on WMTC) fuel consumption mean that you can enjoy longer distances on your journey.
The 6.5” full-colour TFT widescreen with Pro and ECO rising modes give you even more control over your journey. Combining Bluetooth connectivity with a USB port, you can both connect and charge your smartphone with the BMW Connected App. Make phone calls safely, listen to your music, and connect your apps on the go for safe and pleasurable riding. Feel safer at night with the adaptive headlight with swivelling full-LED technology. This ensures up the road in front in wonderful bright light with a wider beam angle.
