Macrae & Dick have reimbursed another young driver in the Highlands on successful completion of their Skills for Life Course through the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) in Inverness and Ross & Cromarty.

Douglas Naismith is a Junior Doctor at Raigmore Hospital completing his training as a GP. Douglas completed his IAM course at the end of May with the Inverness Group. Douglas said ‘The experience of going out with an IAM Observer has made me a safer and more confident driver. I feel very proud to have achieved this course. Thank you also to Macrae & Dick for accepting me onto their scholarship programme.’

Macrae & Dick launched the partnership with the IAM Young Driver Support Programme in August 2013 and have so far supported over 10 young people with the cost of their Skills for Life Advanced Driver Course.

Andrew Grzesinski, Group Managing Director, Macrae & Dick said “Our aim in this support programme is to assist the young drivers of the Highlands to be safer on the roads. As a motor dealer anything that we can do to make youngsters improve their driving skills and be more competent is worthy of the financial investment”.

Ian Donaldson, Chairman, IAM Inverness commented ‘The IAM in Inverness thanks Macrae & Dick once again for their continuing support to driver education in the Highlands, and in particular their major contribution to young driver safety by sponsoring under 26s taking part in the IAM Advanced Driving Course in this area.’

The next course in Inverness is due to start on Tuesday 8th September. More information on the IAM and the local groups please visit their website.
