C4 Cactus wins 2015 World Car Design of the Year

Citroën has long been associated with stylish design, and this dedication has won the brand accolades at the April 2015 New York International Motor Show. Present at the event, Citroën won the 2015 World Car Design of the Year award, on behalf of the New Citroën C4 Cactus.

The award was presented as part of the World Car of the Year competition, which grants awards based on innovative design, and vehicles that challenge the current conventions of the global vehicle market. The design of the New Citroën C4 Cactus was deemed both audacious and functional, bringing it the most votes from the judging panel.

Previous winners of the World Car Design of the Year award include models such as the BMW i3, the Jaguar F-Type, the Range Rover Evoque, and the Aston Martin Rapide. The award has been running for 11 years, during which Citroën took the award previously in 2006 for the C4 Coupé.

CEO of Citroën, Linda Jackson, commented on the New Citroën C4 Cactus's victory: "Citroën C4 Cactus does not look like any other car, precisely because it is a Citroën, and because Citroën's design is different and unique. It forcefully represents the identity of our brand. This is what customers expect from Citroën and this is why we have been so successful for more than 90 years."

The Citroën C4 Cactus has won over 30 awards internationally since its launch, and has also proved domestically popular - over 60,000 orders have been placed for the model in Europe alone.
